LOVING GOD - LOVING PEOPLE

Giving   To  M I S S I O N S   Through Peoples Church

Have you ever wanted to give a portion of what God has given you to someone else in need but didn't know how... or to whom?

Giving to MISSIONS Through Peoples Church is designed to help you remain faithful to God’s method of giving – But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work. 2Cor 9:6-8 – While giving you vision of just how huge God’s mission field is outside the walls of our church.

Sponsoring a child, will also help provide HIV/AIDS prevention, education, and special care for orphans and vulnerable children. The Voice of the Martyrs was founded in the mid-1960's by Pastor Richard Wurmbrand, who was imprisoned and tortured by Communist authorities in his native Romania for fourteen years. While still in prison, Pastor Wurmbrand envisioned a ministry that would focus on the plight of the Persecuted Church, raise a voice on their behalf, and provide encouragement and assistance to them. The story of Richard Wurmbrand and his burden for persecuted Christians around the world is recounted in his many books, most notably in the bestseller Persecuted for Christ. The Voice of the Martyrs is one of the founding partners of IDOP Canada, a partnership of The Religious Liberty Commission of the Evangelical Fellowship of Canada, Open Doors with Brother Andrew, The Voice of the Martyrs, Christian Aid Mission, and International Christian Response.

Every year, a special resource kit is developed that your church, Bible study, or small group can use for International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church in mid-November.

In 2006, The International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church will be on Sunday, November 12, 2006.

The theme for the day is from Matthew 5 and Jesus' declaration, "Blessed are the Persecuted." Countries which IDOP Canada will be urging special prayer for are: Belarus, India, Israel & the West Bank/Gaza Strip, and Uzbekistan.
